Curtis J. Raynold

Curtis Raynold is an Independent Consultant in International Affairs at Curtis Raynold Consulting, LLC. At the time of his retirement in 2016, He was Secretary to the United Nations Secretary General’s Advisory Board on Disarmament Matters. Joining the UN in 1985 through the UN National Competitive Recruitment Exam in Economics, he served with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna, Austria from 1985 to 2004. Following the negotiated cease-fire between NATO and Yugoslavia and the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1244, he was posted to the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) in October 1999. Prior to his international engagement, Mr. Raynold was a diplomat in the St. Lucia Foreign Service from 1981 to 1985. He holds a Masters degree in Government from Harvard University, a BA in Economics and Law from The University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Hill Campus in Barbados and a post-graduate diploma in International Relations from the Institute of International Relations at The UWI St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad & Tobago.
